AirTran Updates Flights Affected by Hurricane Floyd

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- AirTran (Nasdaq:AAIR) announced that severe weather, as a result of Hurricane Floyd, will cause some East Coast cancellations. South Florida operations are back to normal.

All flights to and from Jacksonville, Fla., and Savannah, Ga., are cancelled today, September 15. Jacksonville service will resume tomorrow, September 16, at 8:50 a.m., and Savannah service will resume tomorrow at 10:05 a.m. Flights to and from Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem, N.C., are cancelled after 2:45 p.m. today. AirTran's last flight of the day from Atlanta to Raleigh/Durham, N.C., at 10:45 p.m. tonight will be cancelled.

All flights to and from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale have resumed regular service. Orlando service will resume today after 3:00 p.m.

At this time, normal operations for the remainder of the schedule are expected. AirTran will continue to monitor the path of Hurricane Floyd, and will issue updates as information becomes available. AirTran will waive normal restrictions and change fees to accommodate all customers who have confirmed reservations on affected flights.

Call volumes are high during these disruptions and AirTran's Savannah reservations center has been evacuated, so customers may experience phone delays.
