Travel Blogs: Away We Go!
Working as the blogger relations manager for PR Newswire, I come across my fair share of great blogs that cover a wide variety of subject matters and interests. And as you might expect, some blogs are better than others. With that in mind and in an effort to highlight the better ones, I do my best to review one of these blogs every day.
This week my focus is on travel blogs. Let me just tell you, there are some pretty great travel blogs out there. And they all seem to be blogging from some pretty great places. It’s inspiring to see. It’s even led me to consider my next big trip. There’s this whole big, bad world out there. And these bloggers are bringing it all a little bit closer with every post. So with that in mind, let’s fill up the tank, pack our bathing suits and enjoy this brief roundup of some of the best travel blogs I’ve seen lately.
Everything Everywhere is a travel blog by a guy who until he was 21 had never seen salt water. Nowadays he’s seen just about everything. His site is great for planning your own trip, or maybe just day dreaming. If I were to pitch this blog, I’d look for something to do with travel, and possibly National Parks, as it seems this guy has been to every single one of them. Check out the full review here.
Tnooz is a blog for the tech-savvy traveler. If there’s a new app or other online resource out there that will help travelers, you’ll more than likely read about it on here. If I were to pitch this blog, I’d look for anything that sits at the intersection of travel and technology. I’d also keep in mind that while this site is for travelers, it’s also for those working in the industry. Check out the full review here.
Almost Fearless is one of these “this is a great blog, but it’s a better story” blogs. Technically, it’s a travel blog. There are plenty of pictures of faraway, beautiful places to support this assertion. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a great travel blog. It just feels like more than that. If I were to pitch this blog, I’d look for stories that have to do with travel, but also family. Check out the full review here.
The All Aboard Beat is one of those travel blogs that makes you feel you’re traveling alongside the author. There’s a certain excitement and energy emanating from this blog that speaks to a person who can’t see the whole wide world fast enough. If I were to pitch this blog, I’d maybe look for stories that highlight travel-oriented career opportunities, or possibly travel deals for students. Check out the full review here.
Booked is one woman’s travel blog, yes. But, it’s also her dream. The site chronicles her travels here and there. She’s also got her kids with her. If I were to pitch this blog, I’d look for something to do with travel and families. And I’d also be aware that she will NOT to do pay-for-play product reviews. If she likes a product, you’ll see it on the blog. But only then. Check out the full review here.
That’s all for now. In the meantime, if there’s a blog I should be reviewing, drop me a line or a note in the comments, and I’ll take a look. Until next time…
