Social Media Week takes place Feb. 18-22. It happens twice a year. Last September, the event took place simultaneously in 13 cities with 30,000 people attending more than 1,000 events over five days. It's a worldwide event that explores the social, cultural, and economic impact of social media. Events primarily are free. Check the SMW site for events close to you.

ProfNet Connect is a free, interactive online community where PR professionals, experts, and media professionals can network and engage with one another. The site also features enhanced profile capabilities, allowing users to easily add multimedia components -- photos, videos, white papers and more -- to their profiles.
