MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today it was awarded a basic ordering agreement (BOA) by the U.S. Army to provide Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) support services to the Army Sustainment Command (ASC).  The multiple-award BOA has a five-year period of performance and a total contract value of approximately $23 billion for all awardees.

The ASC provides sustainment level logistics by synchronizing acquisition, logistics and technology support, from the strategic through the operational to the tactical level.  Under the BOA, SAIC may submit task order proposals to provide EAGLE support services, including preparing forces for deployment, sustainment and redeployment in current conflicts, and reset forces and rebuild readiness for future deployments and contingencies in order to meet the demands of a persistent conflict in the 21st Century.  SAIC is one of 96 companies currently eligible to compete for task orders under this BOA.

"We are excited to be a part of this new program, which establishes the Army Materiel Command's capability to support the Materiel Enterprise by providing for all aspects of the Army's multi-faceted supply, maintenance and transportation efforts," said Glenn San Giacomo, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.

"This is a great opportunity to provide SAIC's extensive logistics expertise to the Army Sustainment Command in support of AMC's growing supply, maintenance and transportation efforts," added Barbara Doornink, SAIC senior vice president and operations manager.
