MIAMI, Nov. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- On October 19, 2012, Sharon Rodriguez – previously Corporate Director for Nursing of Dade Medical College (DMC) – was named Dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Southernmost Florida (USmF), a DMC learning affiliate.
Rodriguez has been with Dade Medical College for over three years. She has a Bachelor's degree in Nursing as well as a Master's degree in Nursing Education Specialization. Rodriguez is also in the process of earning her Doctorate in Nursing Practice-Executive Leadership.
She was instrumental in the creation and implementation of DMC's Nursing program, beginning with LPN, then adding the RN and BSN degrees. At USmF, Rodriguez will be pioneering the MSN program.
Of her new position, she said, "I look forward to this opportunity to serve our community and to contribute toward advancing the field of nursing education."
