The Turkey Trot event has been a tradition in Austin for 22 years. Last year's event raised more than $260,000 for Caritas of Austin – a local non-profit that proves food, housing, employment and education for those in poverty in the area. The organization serves more than 20,000 adults and children each year and has been doing so for over 47 years.

Raffle tickets for the 2013 Honda Accord from Howdy Honda are $25. Interested participants can obtain tickets online. The winner will be announced at the Howdy Honda dealership on Nov. 28.

The Stepping Stone School Kids K starts at 8:45 a.m. and the 5-mile run begins at 9:30 a.m. There will also be an untimed 5-mile run in addition to a 1-mile run. For event details and to register, go to www.thundercloud.com.

Still not convinced? Here's what one blogger had to say about the widget.
