PR Newswire: news distribution, targeting and monitoring
Feb 1 2013

FALMOUTH, Maine, Feb. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In an interview with TideSmart Talk with Stevoe, a weekly radio show that takes a macro approach towards society and culture, seven-time Maine State Senator Peter Mills (R-26th District), joined host Steve Woods (Stevoe) for a discussion about the direct link between Maine's economic and infrastructure challenges.

The show will air Saturday, February 2, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on News Talk WLOB 1310AM and will be live streamed at http://www.wlobradio.com.  A podcast will be available via iTunes or at http://www.tidesmartradio.com.

Mills, who spent 32 years as an attorney and 16 years in the Maine State Legislature, talked about election reform, Maine's political climate, the Maine Turnpike Authority and his "obsession" with public service.  Woods and Mills also discussed Maine's infrastructure challenges as it relates to economic prosperity.

"Maine is a large state which has grown organically into uneven population distribution, which poses significant economic challenges for our vast infrastructure and essential government services," Woods said. "Thoughtful strategies tied to encouraging more financially sustainable communities throughout the state will help create a shared economic prosperity for all Mainers."

During the second hour of the February 2 TideSmart Talk with Stevoe show, Woods was joined for an in-studio interview Dottie Foote, Executive Director of The Community Schools At Opportunity Farm & Camden, an innovative school that provides students with skills to discover their strengths and contribute to their communities.

Since launching TideSmart Talk with Stevoe nearly one year ago, Woods has hosted high-profile guests including famed attorney F. Lee Bailey, mentalist The Amazing Kreskin, two-term Maine Governor John Baldacci , Shipyard Brewing Company President Fred Forsley, longtime Maine broadcast journalist Bill Green, Portland Sea Dogs Owner Bill Burke, Portland Mayor Michael Brennan, Former Chief of Staff to Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and current University of Maine Athletic Director Steve Abbott, and Maine Senate President Justin Alfond.
