A Brief Blog Profile: FaithWorld
FaithWorld is a compilation of religion news coverage by Reuters bureaus worldwide.
The blog is coordinated by Reuters religion editor Tom Heneghan, who "reports mostly about Christianity and Islam in Europe and related moral issues such as bioethics." Heneghan joined Reuters in London in 1977. He's currently based in Paris.
A recent fascinating post is a piece on religious environmentalism, with religions seen slow to go green.
"Few religious communities have gone as far in fighting climate change as a church in Queensland, Australia, which has 24 solar panels bolted to the roof in the shape of a Christian cross," writes Reuters environment correspondent Alister Doyle. The post goes on to say that some church members have been inspired to install solar panels on their homes.
Another recent post is about how Catholics and Lutherans jointly will mark the Reformation’s 500th anniversary in 2017.
