A Brief Blog Profile: Gardenerd.com
I ordered some perennials from a nursery, and it's likely the last planting I can engage in before the temperature decides it's time to cease gardening.
This makes me sad. So to get me through the East Coast cold months, I take solace in garden writing and expert tips.
Gardenerd.com is designed for people with a "healthy sense of humor about their obsession with organic gardening." It was launched by Christy Wilhelmi, whose gardening obsession began in the mid-1990s on her Los Angeles apartment balcony.
"We provide organic gardening information whenever you need it, helping you turn land, public space, and containers into a more satisfying and productive garden that is capable of producing better-tasting and healthier food," the blog says.
I found interesting Wilhelmi's video on bed prep for fall and spring gardening. It's one of my goals to focus on the vegetable garden next year, so that post was very helpful. I also enjoyed her Ask Gardenerd post on Leaves for Compost?
