A Brief Blog Profile: How-To Geek
How-To Geek is an online tech magazine with articles, how-tos and trivia. And, in the spirit of full disclosure, I got my first trivia question wrong.
The question: Which video game console was the last to use cartridges? I should've gotten this right because I actually own one (Answer: N64). Alas, I guessed incorrectly.
So from the start, How-To Geek immediately was fun to me. I also appreciate how it appeals to a wide audience.
"We’ve tried really hard to make sure that our content is understandable for regular people, but geeky enough that the more technical readers would find it interesting as well," the blog says.
A little post I found particularly interesting was today's Did You Know: "Neptune was discovered in 1846 but, thanks to its extremely lengthy orbital path around the Sun, didn’t return to the location it was discovered until 2011–165 years later."
I also liked Yahoo to start sending out notifications about 'user name wishlists.'
