A Brief Blog Profile: Michael Smith's Principals Page
It's back-to-school time, and Facebook has been covered with photos of children heading into their new school year. This is how I found Michael Smith's Principals Page.
This is an interesting blog. I appreciate it for its complete honesty.
"This blog is about school administration. Not the most exciting topic, but it’s all I’ve got," Smith writes. "It is also about other stuff from time to time. Anything and everything that can happen to a teacher, coach, principal, superintendent, or father."
Smith is a school superintendent in Tuscola, Ill. His graduation advice in Rules for Real Life really struck a chord with me.
Some of Smith's rules: "If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss," and "Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger-flipping. They called it opportunity."
