A Brief Blog Profile: Superbug
If you haven't seen the movie Contagion yet, it's pretty freaky. I have a family member who swears that's how we're all going down.
So it's blogs like Superbug that remind me super bugs indeed are a reality. They're not going away anytime soon.
Superbug has been named among the top 10 science blogs by Real Clear Science. It's written by author Maryn McKenna who "finds emerging diseases strangely exciting."
One particularly interesting and troubling recent post is 'Nightmare Bacteria' Attack an ICU and Close a Burn Unit. I also found incredibly stressful this post: More Tickborne Diseases Other Than Lyme. Maybe Just Don't Go Outside.
McKenna's writing is powerful. And blood-pressure raising. I think I'll go find my happy place now.
