A Brief Blog Profile: The Best Friends Blog
Kanab, Utah-based Best Friends Animal Society is a national animal welfare group that runs the largest no-kill animal sanctuary. It also has a blog, The Best Friends Blog.
Best Friends Animal Society has a simple philosophy: "Kindness to animals builds a better world for all of us." I actually can say this personally has worked out in my life: I have five cats -- all rescues from different animal shelters in Maryland and Virginia.
"Best Friends’ No More Homeless Pets campaign created a new vision: A grassroots effort to place dogs and cats who were considered “unadoptable” into good homes and to reduce the number of unwanted pets through effective spay and neuter programs," the blog says.
The most recent blog post by Best Friends Animal Society co-founder Francis Battista covers the possible overturning of an anti-pit pull ruling in Maryland. If Maryland Senate Bill 160 is passed, it will "advance public safety and save the lives of thousands of well-behaved pit bulls."
