A Brief Blog Profile: Cool Hunting
by Thomas Hynes
Cool Hunting sets their sights on anything that highlights "creativity and innovation in design, technology, style, culture, food and travel." Whether it's a story, a slide show or a video, the main criteria for this blog is cool. The site was founded in 2003 by Josh Rubin and Evan Orensten. The idea was to be a designer's resource. Today they boast an international audience. And as you may imagine, they can also be found on sites like Vimeo, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
The more I look around Cool Hunting, the more I realize that being cool probably is the sole determinant for being featured on this blog. For instance, I had no idea that Frank Gehry had designed a fitness center in New York City. But, he totally has! And, spoiler alert, it looks awesome! Pretty much everything featured in this Jeep and USA Basketball product partnership looks awesome as well. These limited edition Tourneau watches also look pretty great. But, what's even better (or cooler) is that they support AIDS research.
And hose are just a few examples. Truthfully, this is the type of blog you could lose hours on perusing. That's because this blog has all that's cool squarely in its cross hairs.
