A Brief Blog Profile: Eco-Beautiful Weddings
by Thomas Hynes
When I think of weddings, I think of a lot of things. I think of speeches and cakes and invitations and dresses. I think of people traveling from near and far to celebrate. I don't always think of the environment, however. For one, green's hardly ever the color of choice. White is usually in much higher demand. Ditto something blue. But, Eco-Beautiful Weddings strives to prove that weddings don't need to leave a massive carbon footprint in order to be fabulous.
Or as they say on the blog, "We love weddings, we hate the waste." Basically, there are options. As this post points out, embracing a vintage wedding is a great way to stay environmentally friendly while still being stylish. And they can even prove it here in a post about the Real Wedding of Ashley and PJ. From the suit on PJ to the call to reuse plates at the wedding potluck, these people love the environment as much as they love one another.
The concept behind Eco-Beautiful Weddings makes a lot of sense to me. If we're going to spend all this money, time and effort in a celebration of committing to another person for the rest of our lives, shouldn't we at least have a healthy planet on which to enjoy it?
