A Brief Blog Profile: Frugal Quack
by Thomas Hynes
The personal finance blog Frugal Quack is about "saving money, being smart and creating your own income." The blog's author also sees this as the solution to the current financial kerfuffle taking place in the United States. But I don't know if it's just about money. Admittedly that's a strange thing to say about a personal finance blog. As the tagline suggests, though, the goal is to be "living more with less."
On the site, you'll read about ways to save money on gas and iphone apps that help women save money. That's pretty standard for a personal finance bog. But, again, what I like about Frugal Quack is that it's not all about money. Here we can read about cheap ways to lower your stress. Sure there's a money saving component to that. But there's also a quality of life component.
I also really like how the site refers to reusable shopping bags as "sexy." For one, I agree. Furthermore, this is not, at least on the surface, a money-saving issue. But, in the long run, using less will save all of us - and our grandchildren - a lot of money. It's getting people to embrace this less is more mentality now that will ultimately pay off dividends.
