A Brief Blog Profile: Gorilla Vs. Bear

by Thomas Hynes

Gorilla vs. Bear is a music blog based out of Texas. The music could probably be described as indie, or, worse, hipster. But to them, it's not about the genres. It's about the music. And their goal is to look for something relevant to listen to and write about. The site's also been written about in a couple of places. Or actually a lot of places. Time and Newsweek have gone so far as to use terms as "best" and "influential" to describe the site.

And like any good music blog, Gorilla vs. Bear not only writes about music, they also offer up music for their readers to hear. Have a listen to this Chicago psychedelic band the drum. Or maybe, you'd rather the more pop-friendly sounds of Toro y Moi. Still, maybe you're looking for something along the lines of A$AP Rocky.... But, look. I can't link to that video, ok? This is my job. The point is you can find it on this blog.

They also take pictures of musicians with polaroids. (I didn't know you could still get polaroid film. But like I said, this site could be described as 'hipster'.) Have a look at these pictures of Thom Yorke, Panda Bear, Real Estate, Odd Future and Joanna Newsom. Spread them around on the coffee table of your mind and know that these scattered images of artists is what our modern music scene really looks like.

News Widget

Our widget allows you to display PR Newswire content on your site with very little back-end programming required.   You not only get the headline, but also the body of text of the news release, keeping the user on your site at all times.  In order to do so, the difference between our Widget and other widgets is at the end of the sign-up process, you will be provided with 2 pieces of source code -- one for the page where the Widget itself will be displayed and one for the pages that will display the body of text of each news release.   In addition, the sign-up process allows you to have 100% control over every aspect of the Widget's appearance, so that the Widget can blend in fully with the look and feel of your website.... Here it is in action on my bike blog.
