A Brief Blog Profile: Lost in Technology
by Thomas Hynes
The blog Lost In Technology came about as a result of a late-night brainstorming session between Kyle Judkins and his wife. The idea was that Kyle had spent years feeling frustrated by technology. But out of that "cursing, kicking and screaming" came the impulse to provide the rest of the blogosphere with tips and tricks he'd picked up through the years; the 'roadmap' he never had. Basically, he's done all the hard work ( or the screaming anyway), so you don't have to.
Lost In Technology offers the type of content you'd expect from a tech blog. There's posts on how to get the most out of your experiences on twitter. And there's posts about how to encrypt and password protect your bookmarks. But there's also this post on how to print your own labels for home-made beer. This last one is great to me. For one, it shows the real-world applications tech can have on our lives. But secondly, I like beer. And I take it Kyle does, too. Posts like this reveal his interests, his personality, and ultimately, his voice.
What I also really like about this site is that it's not even Kyle's full-time job (yet). It seems he truly cares about guiding readers through the sometimes murky waters of technology. With his help they won't get lost. Or at the very least, they won't be cursing, kicking or screaming.
