A Brief Blog Profile: MindBodyGreen
by Thomas Hynes
MindBodyGreen wants to help their readers. In their own words, they "hope to give you the tools to make your life better and healthier." At first blush, this appears to be a yoga blog. But, they call themselves a wellness blog. And, hey, that's fine. Truthfully, where there is yoga, there is usually wellness. I appreciate that this blog wouldn't constrain themselves to just yoga, when really they deal with a wide array of issues from exercise and fitness to diets and drinking to spirituality and relationships.
On the site, you can read these 11 fascinating facts about breathing. Now, you might be saying to yourself, "what's so fascinating about breathing?" I thought the same thing... until I read the post. In this post, they pose the argument of why every athlete should do yoga. Here they offer tools to help readers drink less alcohol. And in this infographic, they outline the 515 chemicals women put in their bodies on a daily basis.
What MindBodyGreen understands is that well being extends far beyond the yoga mat. Put another way, everyone feels great after a yoga class. It's taking that feeling into the real world and applying it to everyday life that's tricky. Thankfully, this blog deals with more than just yoga.
