A Brief Blog Profile: ModernCat

Well here's a blog I never thought I'd be reading, or even writing about for that matter. But, if I'm going to review pet blogs, I suppose I have to review cat blogs, too. (I have to, right?) And if I'm going to review cat blogs, ModernCat is probably the best place to start. As you can probably already tell, I'm not really a cat person. Though, really, I just don't know much about them.

One thing I really like about ModernCat (now there's a first half of a sentence I never thought I'd type) is that they don't seem like typical cat people. For instance, they don't want every cat item they buy to be purple, frilly or faux-fur. They're after a "more modern aesthetic... that accommodates both your cat and your personal style." Take for example, these climbing shelves, or this cat bed, or this litter mat. And bear in mind, all of these are do-it-yourself.

But, it's not all DIY. There are plenty of new and elegant products to look through on this site. There are also giveaways and videos and everything else a cat owner might want to read. What you won't find on ModernCat is much frill... or even purple for that matter. Or better yet, this blog isn't necessarily for cats. It's more for people who love them.

News Widget

Our widget allows you to display PR Newswire content on your site with very little back-end programming required.  You not only get the headline, but also the body of text of the news release, keeping the user on your site at all times.  In order to do so, the difference between our Widget and other widgets is at the end of the sign-up process, you will be provided with two pieces of source code -- one for the page where the Widget itself will be displayed and one for the pages that will display the body of text of each news release.  In addition, the sign-up process allows you to have 100 percent control over every aspect of the Widget's appearance, so that the Widget can blend in fully with the look and feel of your site. Still not convinced? Here's what one blogger had to say about the widget.
