A Brief Blog Profile: Omnivoracious
by Thomas Hynes
Omnivoracious is a blog written by the books editors of Amazon.com. Amazon may sell a lot of things these days, but they got their start as a bookseller. In many ways, that's still their primary function. And in case, you've never perused the site, they sell just about every printed word ever published. In other words, these folks know a thing or two about books. And this blog is a "space to talk books and publishing frankly."
Not surprisingly, you're bound to read about a lot of books on this blog. For instance, here they have a review on Nate Silver's new book. I'm not much of a gambler, but the odds are this is probably a great book. On this post, you can read about how "No Easy Day" is actually about a lot more than the raid on Bin Laden.
But, it's a lot more than just reviews. For instance, here is a trailer of Penny Marshall's new book starring Fred Armisen. (Watch it. It's funny.) And here is a list of what James Dashner would want in an apocalypse. There's also this primer of how to deal with an editor. As you can see, Omnivaoracious has a varied diet of subject matters.
