A Brief Blog Profile: Pets in Italy
by Thomas Hynes
Despite the name, Pets in Italy is for any pet owner living in any country. The blog has two basic missions. The first is to document the experience of having pets in foreign countries. After all, pet culture is not necessarily a part of every culture. The second mission of the site is to help homeless animals in Italy. So in a way, this blog is both a labor of love as well as a labor for love.
Pets in Italy spends a fair amount of time looking for homes for animals in need. And there are a lot of them out there. Not just dogs. This site includes stories about cats and horses and just about everything else you could think of that might need a home. But the blog is really so much more than that.
The site also discusses such issues as the nature of having a hunting dog as a pet. Here , you can read about how things can get messy when one of those dogs gives into their instincts. You can also read about the recent changes to the quarantine laws in the UK or how the author and her husband decided to name a pigeon. This blog is a great resource, as this link to vets who speak English will attest. It's helpful and it's informative. It also happens to be their story.
