A Brief Blog Profile: Rage Against the Minivan
by Thomas Hynes
Rage Against the Minivan is written by a mother who definitely loves her children. It's their chariot with which she takes issue. She held out on this "battle" for as long as she could. In 2010, the family finally got one. According to the blog, it sits in the driveway, "covered in crushed cheerios and remnants of her self-esteem." Still, that's not to say that Kristen, the blog's author is a reluctant mother. She's just reluctant to be a cliche.
And honestly, this woman is anything but a cliche. Kristen and her husband have four children. Two are their biological children. The other two are their adopted children. (I'm beginning to see why they needed the minivan.) One of her children was adopted from Haiti, right around the time of the earthquake. Regardless of the car model, there's nothing run of the mill about the family on Rage Against the Minivan.
Having said that, you can still read about this sundried tomato and goat cheese quiche . (It's gluten free!) Or you can take a look at this shoe guide for summer 2012. She's still a mom. She just happens to be a mom who has been on The Daily Show. It's also worth noting that Kristen is a licensed marriage and family therapist. In other words, she knows what she's talking about.
