A Brief Blog Profile: Short Form Blog
by Thomas Hynes
Brevity's back in a big way. In some ways, platforms like twitter can seem constraining. But on the other hand, it's an opportunity to be succinct. There's no time (or character space) to drone on and on. 'Get to the point,' audiences all over the world can be heard to say. And it's not just the 140 character limitations that need to be considered. I'm not sure if you've looked around the internet these days, but there's a lot going on, and it's coming from all directions. Best to get the message out, and quick.
Championing this cause is Short Form Blog. Their tumblr page is really a news curation site. Today on the site you can read about Arlen Specter doing standup comedy. You can also catch up on the situation in Syria. Or maybe you'd like to see a roundup of music sales in 2011. You can also follow tags in case you want to hear what was said yesterday, too. Really, this blog has a little bit - and I do mean a little bit - of everything.
Short Form Blog is a great site to visit in order to get a handle on all the day's stories. They easily transition from one story to the next. As long as it's relevant and being spoken about, you'll read about it here... and quickly. Really their tag line sums it up best: "Read a little. Learn a lot."
