A Brief Blog Profile: Stay At Stove Dad
by Thomas Hynes
Stay At Stove Dad tells the story of a working man feeding his family. And I don't mean that like, he's putting "food on the table" in some metaphorical way. I mean that the man has a day job AND he cooks dinner for his wife and kids. He's literaly putting food on the table. As you may have guessed from the fact that he has a blog, John, the Stay at Stove Dad, is a writer. That's his day job. And from the looks of the site, he's also a pretty decent cook.
To be clear, he actually looks an awesome cook. For example, this olive-stuffed lamb and this country stew (also with lamb) is hardly the work of an amateur. But like the title of the blog might imply, John is a dad, too. And like most dads, he doesn't have all the time in the world to get all gourmet with it. That's why he also offers these quite helpful tips on five-minute recipes.
The quick recipes really strike a chord with me. Cooking is clearly one of the Stay At Stove Dad's passions. And, look, he's obviously really good at it. But, he's also a dad. And as such, I'm sure he knows that a lot of times the kids just need to be fed. Best to get something healthy on the plate, and quickly. I'm betting a lot of other parents can relate.
