A Brief Blog Profile: Stereogum
by Thomas Hynes
Stereogum hails itself as one of the first mp3 blogs. The site boast a faitihful collection of readers, including such industry luminaries as Kanye West, Ben Gibbard, and Ryan Adams. They've been praised "everywhere from The New Yorker to FOX News." And honestly, if those two media giants are in agreement, then you just know it's got to be the truth. And that's great. But really, this is a blog for the everyday, albeit rabid, music fan.
As a matter of fact, the most-read post on the site right now is the 2012 Grammys Comment Party. This post is just what it sounds like. It's a community of music lovers commenting on the award show. At times, they skewer the product, but they're doing it together. It is a party. (Kudos to Chipotle for taking part in the conversation, er, for joining the party!!) The site also reviews albums. Here's their review of the new Sleigh Bells album. I'm intrigued to read this. I loved that one Sleigh Bells song from 2010. And there's more! Stereogum also links to live performances, like this one of Lana Del Rey at Amoeba Records. That they're talking about Lana Del Rey shows they're with it. And that they're talking about Amoeba Records shows they've been with it.
Stereogum also knows how to stick to the basics. On one tab they simply stream tracks. And they've got it all. Everything from Nicki Manaj and La Sera to The Drums and Andrew Bird. They even have this hip hop track that samples Radiohead. You can take my advice on this site or not. I'm going to listen to that song!

Aw, this was a really nice post. In concept I wish to put in writing like this moreover – taking time and actual effort to make a very good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and not at all appear to get one thing done.
