A Brief Blog Profile: Technology with Intention
by Thomas Hynes
Technology with Intention is a blog that highlights "educators who effectively integrate technology." Or anyway, the bulk of the site is dedicated to specific teachers who use advancements in technology to assist in the learning process. The site also offers commentary on relevant stories, ideas and trends in the industry. But for the most part, the site works to elevate success stories, and as a result is, without a doubt, a great resource for other teachers looking to elevate their own classrooms.
On the site you'll read about folks like Marcie T. Hull. Marcie's a science teacher who believes the tools of technology should compliment what a teacher is already doing. Or you can read about Todd Conaway. Todd's an instructional designer. He believes that 'curiosity, relevance and passion' are the keystones to a great educational experience. And there are many more profiles just like this; each offering inspiring example after inspiring example.
But there's more. On Technology with Intention, you can read a critique of Apple's e-book program, a report on EduCon or a review of iBook. In fact, it doesn't really matter if it happens in the classroom or outside of it. If there's any advancement in the way people can teach, you'll probably learn about it here.
