A Brief Blog Profile: The Kosher Foodies
by Thomas Hynes
The Kosher Foodies are actually identical twin sisters. Stephanie, the older one, and Jessica grew up making food. It hardly mattered if it was "just because" cookies or a dinner party. The identical twins have always felt at home in the kitchen. They also loved photography. A food blog was a natural marriage for these interests. Oh, and as you may have guessed from the blog's name, these two keep kosher. But what some might see as a restriction, they have turned into a culinary opportunity.
It's great that everything on here is kosher. But, really, all I see is delicious. For instance, this breakfast egg cooked INSIDE an avocado is literally something I'm going to make this weekend. This quinoa with beets and spinach dish looks good to eat and good FOR me. And by that I mean, I want it right now. And these peanut butter and honey granola bars could probably be enjoyed by those of any faith.
What I love most about The Kosher Foodies is that they're not deterred by their dietary restrictions. Instead, they celebrate it. And in keeping this blog, they're showing other who keep kosher that it doesn't have to necessarily be a sacrifice. Or if it is, it's at least a delicious one.
