A Brief Blog Profile: VOXXI
by Thomas Hynes
If you've read a Census report recently, then you know that Hispanics are a fast-growing segment of the U.S. population. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that VOXXI covers so many different aspects of life. It's a website for Hispanic Americans. But, it's really so much more than that. The site covers politics, health, entertainment, lifestyle, food and business. Like Hispanics in America, the site touches on just about everything.
On the health section, I'm reading about the risks associated with contaminated tattoo ink. On the entertainment section, I'm reading about the upcoming nuptials of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. On the sports section, I'm reading about Spain's plans for the World Cup in 2014 as well as what the Cleveland Browns plan to do with their secondary depleted for the next four weeks. And on the politics section, I'm reading about candidates from both parties as well as reports from both of the recent conventions.
The politics section is a perfect example of why VOXXI works as a website. It doesn't pigeonhole this growing demographic. Hispanics in America don't all think and act and live in the same way. It's as complex and diverse as any other group of people. And wisely, this website makes no assumptions. Instead it covers all sides. It tells the whole story.
