NEXT-GENERATION CONTACTLESS PAYMENTS RING UP SPEED AND CONVENIENCE

Credit Cards With blink Redefine Payment Experience for Consumers and Merchants

Story Summary:

The latest innovation in payments is making the purchase process easier than ever. Consumers will soon have a faster, more convenient way to pay for just about anything, thanks to a revolutionary new kind of credit card - Chase credit cards with blink. Credit cards with blink take a traditional credit card and add a new feature - embedded technology that allows consumers to pay by simply holding the card near a secure reader, instead of swiping the card or handing it to a cashier. The new point-of-sale terminal will quickly emit a tone and signal - or blink - indicating payment confirmation. For consumers, credit cards with blink make paying for everyday purchases faster and easier.

Chase, the first U.S. bank to broadly roll out credit cards with blink, will begin issuing the cards on a market-by-market basis early this summer. Consumers will be able to use their credit cards with blink anywhere Visa and MasterCard are accepted, and Chase is working to implement contactless functionality at gas stations, quick-service restaurants, movie theatres, convenience stores and other merchants where speed and convenience are important.
