Story Summary:

The holiday season is one of the most beautiful and joyous times of the year, but with the increase in home cooking and electricity usage during these weeks, there is also an increased risk of home fires. According to the U.S. Fire Administration, nearly 47,000 fires occur nationally each year during the holidays, claiming more than 500 lives, causing more than 2,200 injuries, and costing $554 million in property damage.

There are many precautions you can take to avoid a home fire. Actress, wife and mother Keri Russell is concerned with keeping her family safe this holiday season. That is why she is teaming up with consumer product safety non-profit UL for their "Just Look For UL" safety campaign.
