Joseph and Estée Lauder founded Estée Lauder in New York City with four products: Creme Pack, Cleansing Oil, All Purpose Creme and Skin Lotion.
1948
The first department store account is established with Saks Fifth Avenue, New York City.
1953
Estée Lauder introduces Youth-Dew, a history-making idea. The first bath oil to double as a perfume.
1957
Estée Lauder introduces Re-Nutriv, still the gold standard in skin care.
1960
Estée Lauder and Evelyn Lauder attend a charity ball at which Mrs. Estée Lauder received The Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion.

Estée Lauder International operations begin. First account is Harrods in London.

Aramis Inc. is established to bring men a new sense of style in fragrance and grooming.

Mrs. Estée Lauder is named one of ten Outstanding Women in Business in the United States by business and financial editors.
