FAQs: MultiVu™ Co-Op SMT

Share with Twitter Share with LinkedIn

Q) What is a Co-Op tour?
A) A Co-Op tour is a satellite media tour (SMT) that features two to four participants and focuses on a particular topic or event, such as fitness, beauty, personal finance or sports. Each participant is given 20 seconds to convey their message.

Q) What is the benefit of a Co-Op tour?
A) Co-op SMTs (satellite media tours) are a great way to reach both the media and consumers directly. Because resources are pooled among two to four participants, Co-Ops provide a cost-effective option for you or your clients to participate in an SMT.

Q) What is included in a Co-Op package?

  • Live webcast of the SMT: A link to a live stream will be provided to all participants.
  • Guaranteed placements on Newsupdate and Daily Buzz, reaching a total audience of five million.
    • Newsupdate: A news show airing on approximately 150 affiliates through syndication via the ION network.
    • The Daily Buzz: A morning news and variety talk show that airs in 165 markets nationwide. The Daily Buzz delivers the latest in entertainment, business, technology and fashion, as well as news and weather, in an informative and entertaining style.
  • Online Video Distribution:  Custom distribution of the segment to video portals with an audience reach of over 30 million, including YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo! Video, Metacafe, AOL Video, MSN Soapbox, Blinkx, Revver, Clip Syndicate, Broadcaster, Vidilife, Veoh, Vsocial and others.
  • Times Square Photo Distribution: One photo will be featured on the Reuters Sign in Times Square*.
  • Airchecks: We will secure two airchecks from the SMT, as well as from strategic placements.

Q) Do you guarantee how many interviews will be secured for the Co-op SMT?
A) While we cannot guarantee how many stations will book interviews, our Co-op tours typically average between 15 to 20 television stations, as well as five or more radio stations, nationwide.

Q) When do Co-op SMT interviews take place?
A) The Co-Op SMT interviews take place over a two-, three- or four-hour time period between 5:00 AM and 1:00 PM Eastern.

Q) What are the next steps once a Co-Op has been booked?
A) Once you have booked your Co-Op SMT, your MultiVu™ representative will coordinate all on-site logistics (whether at a studio or at a remote location) and will work with all tour participants to ensure optimal results. We will also discuss key messages, determine the most effective overall strategy for your tour and create a one-page media alert for use in pitching. Ideally, pitching begins a minimum of four weeks prior to the tour.

Q) Do you provide a report of Co-Op airings?
A) The day following the media tour, we will provide a preliminary report detailing airings, audience metrics and equivalent advertising values. If available, streaming video links to TV segments will also be included in this report.
