FAQs: MultiVu™ Co-Op SMT

Q) What is a Co-Op tour?
A) A Co-Op tour is a satellite media tour (SMT) that features two to four participants. Each participant is given 20 seconds to convey their message. Each Co-Op is  focused on a particular topic or event, such as fitness, beauty, personal finance or sports.

Q) What is the benefit of a Co-Op tour?
A) Co-op SMTs (satellite media tours) are a great way to get your messages out to the media and reach consumers directly. Because resources are pooled among two to four participants, Co-Ops provide a cost-effective alternative for you or your clients to participate in an SMT.

Q) What does the Co-Op package include?

a)    Live Webcast of the SMT: A link to a live stream will be provided to all participants.
b)    The Director’s Cut MNR: This Multimedia News Release (MNR) will feature all of the Co-Op participants and will be available for  internal use only (no US1 distribution). This is a “Director’s Cut” and therefore not subject to client approval. This MNR is free with the Co-Op package and will be archived for one year.
c)    Podcast:  As part of the Co-Op package, we create a podcast of the generic video.  A podcast notification release will be distributed over PR Newswire’s national newsline, and we will create a downloadable MPEG4 of the video to include in the release. Your podcast will also be included in the MultiVu™ targeted “news” category on iTunes. The podcast release will be distributed within the week following the tour.
d)    Strategic Placement on DTV/ION Networks: The Director’s cut video used in the MNR will also be utilized for strategic placement on the DTV and ION networks. The placement will air approximately 10 to 14 business days after the tour is complete.
e)    Highlights Reel: You will receive a highlights reel approximately four to five weeks after the date of the Co-Op broadcast. The highlights reel consists of two airchecks plus the ION and DTV placements. We will send you a DVD copy as soon as it is complete.
f)    Features Pack: MultiVu™ Co-Op participants can select one feature news package within the calendar year to help increase visibility and reach.

Q) Do you guarantee how many interviews MultiVu™ will confirm for the Co-op SMT?

A) While we cannot guarantee how many stations will book interviews, our Co-op tours typically average between 15 to 20 television stations and 5 or more radio stations nationwide.

Q) When do Co-op SMT interviews take place?
A) The Co-Op SMT interviews take place over a two, three or four-hour time period between 5:00 am and 1:00 pm Eastern.

Q) Do you provide a report of Co-Op airings?
A) The day following the media tour, MultiVu™ will provide a preliminary report detailing airings, audience reached and equivalent advertising values. If available, streaming video links to TV segments will also be included in this report. In addition, MultiVu™ will produce a highlights reel of the entire Co-Op tour.

Q) Do you provide clips of Co-op SMT placements?

A) Yes. We provide two airchecks. Once the Co-Op tour is completed, we will inform you of the two airchecks that will be ordered for use in creating the highlights reel.

PLEASE NOTE:  It takes approximately four to five weeks to complete the highlights reel. If you would like additional airchecks, there is an associated charge of $200 per aircheck. Please note that we must order airchecks from the stations, so it can take up to a week to receive them.

Q) What happens once on the Co-Op is booked?

A) Once you have booked your Co-Op SMT, your MultiVu™ representative will work with all of the participants of the tour to ensure optimal results. MultiVu™ will coordinate all on-site logistics, whether at a studio or at a remote location. We will also discuss key messages, create a one-page media alert for use in pitching and determine the most effective overall strategy for your tour. Ideally, pitching begins a minimum of four weeks prior to the tour
