FAQs: MNR

Share with Twitter Share with LinkedIn

Q) What is a Multimedia News Release (MNR)?
A) The Multimedia News Release (MNR) enhances your message and increases recall by integrating broadcast-quality video and audio within your text release. In addition to video, your MNR includes hyperlinks to specific areas of your Web site and graphics.

Q) Where is my MNR being distributed?
A) Text in the MNR is normally distributed over US1, our premier national wire which includes distribution to more than 5,700 media points nationwide and more than 5,000 Web sites, databases and online services, as well as PR Newswire’s media-only Web site, PR Newswire for Journalists, where tens of thousands of registered journalists and bloggers generate more than one million news release views per month. Video included in MNRs is sent to over 50 different online video portals. Content can also be sent to your customized e-mail lists in HTML format.

Q) Will I receive a report showing which outlets picked up my MNR?
A) Yes. Each MNR includes online Visibility Reports to track the visibility and engagement of your news release and 30 days of complimentary online media monitoring (US1 Media Monitoring) powered by eWatch™, the comprehensive media monitoring service from PR Newswire. You will receive a report for your MNR one day, one week and one month after distribution. You can also request a report at any time thereafter.

Q) What is the difference between an MNR and a Basic MNR?
A) Unlike the MNR, a Basic MNR does not contain video.

Q) How many images are included in the MNR package?

A) Two photos, a screengrab from video content and a logo are included in the MNR package. The Basic MNR includes three photos plus a logo.

Q) In what size and format should photos be submitted for inclusion in an MNR?

A) Photos for MNRs should be at least 300 dpi and 9 inches on the longest side. We can accept JPG, BMP, EPS, TIF and GIF files.

Q) How long will my MNR be available online?

A) MNR pages are archived for one year.

Q) What are the acceptable video formats for inclusion in an MNR?
A) MNR video is hosted in a custom flash player with an embedding function for bloggers and consumers to share the video beyond the MNR page. We can accept MPEG2, MPEG1, WMV and MOV files for processing.

Q) Can I post the MNR to my company Web site?
A) Absolutely. We encourage you to post the MNR to your company site. This helps with SEO as well as site traffic.

Q) Can I opt-out of distributing my MNR and use it for internal purposes instead?
A) Yes. An MNR is a great tool for communicating with internal audiences, including Sales and HR teams, financial groups and your own list of individual recipients.

Q) Can TV stations use the video from my MNR?
A) If your video is an MPEG-2 or broadcast-quality file, TV stations can download the video from the MNR page and use it for broadcast.

Q) Is it possible that my MNR will get distributed before I see it?

A) We will not distribute your MNR before you preview it and approve it for distribution.

Q) In what format should I send the e-mail distribution list for my MNR?
A) All MNR e-mail lists can be sent in a spreadsheet.

Q) Can files for inclusion in MNRs be uploaded via FTP?

A) Please e-mail MNR@multivu.com for FTP details and any other information regarding the MNR.
