WVIT-TV (West Hartford, CT) -- Brad Luck will return to the East Coast to become the Assistant News Director for the station. Luck is currently the Executive Producer for KSWB-TV in San Diego.

WCVB-TV (Needham, MA)  -- Anchor and Reporter Susan Wornick plans to retire in March 2014.  Wornick has been with the station since 1981. We wish her the best of luck!

(Jacksonville, FL) -- Former long-time Morning Anchor Sally Fox has passed away at the age of 58. Fox worked for the station from 1988 to 1995 as the Anchor or “Good Morning Jacksonville”.

KFOR-TV (Oklahoma City, OK) -- Bill Thrash, member of The Oklahoma City Broadcasting Hall of Fame has passed away at the age of 73.

KOCO-TV (Oklahoma City, OK) – Rebecca Gaylord ( has been appointed News Director at the station.

Seattle Times (Seattle, WA) -- After 30 years with the paper Executive Editor David Boardman has left. Boardman had been among other things the paper’s Managing Editor and Assistant Managing Editor. Also at the paper, Business Reporter Amy Martinez ( has been assigned to cover jobs and the economy replacing Drew DeSilver, who has left. Also, Jay Greene has rejoined the Times to take over coverage of Greene previously worked for The Times covering Microsoft, and has also worked for BusinessWeek.

Seattle Weekly (Seattle, WA) -- Kelton Sears ( has been hired as a Staff Writer at the paper where he will be covering nightlife in the city. Most recently, Sears was Editor-in-Chief for The Spectator, the student-run newspaper at Seattle University. The paper has also brought in Nicole Sprinkle to be the Food and Drink Editor. She also contributes to the Huffington Post’s blog, Parentry.

Santa Fe New Mexican (Santa Fe, NM) -- Ray Rivera has been named Editor at the paper, replacing the recently retired Rob Dean. Rivera was previously a Metro Reporter at The New York Times.

Yakima-Herald Republic (Yakima, WA) -- Dave Lester, a Reporter at the paper for almost 40 years, has retired.

SnoValley Star (Snoqualmie, WA) -- Sherry Grindeland ( has been named Editor at the paper. She previously was a Reporter and Columnist for Seattle Times from 1997 to 2011.

The World (Coos Bay, OR) -- Larry Campbell ( has been named Executive Editor at this Southern Oregon newspaper. He will also oversee the Bandon Western World and the Umpqua Post. He replaces the recently departed Clark Walworth. Campbell was most recently the Alaskan Bureau Chief for the Associated Press.

KEGA-FM (Salt Lake City, UT) -- The station has promoted Justin Taylor ( to Assistant Program Director and Music Director. He will also continue to host afternoons at the station, as well as being the Program Director for sister station KMYV-FM.

American News (Aberdeen, SD) -- Elisa Sand ( has been hired as a General Assignment Reporter at the paper. Sand was most recently a Reporter for the Madison Daily Leader in Madison, S.D.

Helena Independent Record (Helena, MT) -- Greg Lemon ( has been promoted to Editor at the paper, replacing Holly Michels. Most recently Lemon served as Community Outreach Editor at the paper.

Renton Reporter (Renton, WA) -- Brian Beckley ( has been promoted to Editor at the paper. Most recently he was the paper’s Associate Editor.

Albany Democrat-Herald (Albany, OR) -- Kim Jackson ( has been named City Editor at the paper. He will take over for Karen Petersen, who recently left. He has served as the News Editor for the newspaper for 20 years.

KVRR-TV (Fargo, ND) -- Anchor TJ Nelson is leaving Fargo ABC affiliate WDAY-TV for rival KVRR. Nelson will Anchor the 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. newscasts for the Fox affiliate. He replaces Austen Schauer, who is leaving the station. On WDAY, Reporter Todd Kurtz will replace Nelson as the Co-Anchor of the 5:00 p.m. newscast.

KTVX-TV (Salt Lake City, UT) -- Kylie Bearse has joined the station as a Reporter and Weekend Weather Forecaster. She previously worked at KIFI-TV/KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls.
