Pugh has been the recipient of a number of awards including both a Local Media Association and a National Newspaper Association award in 2012. He replaces William Hawkins, who retired. The News & Observer (Raleigh, NC) -- A Raleigh institution has retired. Sports Writer Caulton Tudor has covered the sports beat for the N&O and the Raleigh Times for more than four decades. Tudor, 65, started his career in the 60s. While ACC basketball was his specialty, he also covered hockey. But he is best known for his columns on the numerous ACC tournaments and NCAA Final Fours he saw during his life.  

CNN Interactive (Online) -- Columnist John Sutter (john.sutter@turner.com) has switched beats. He previously covered technology but now will handle social justice and human rights on CNN.com. Orange County Register (Santa Ana, CA) -- Bernard Wolfson (bwolfson@ocregister.com) has returned to the OC Register as a Reporter, covering healthcare. Wolfson was previously with the paper between 1998 and 2005, but parted ways in 2005 when he accepted a position with Market News International.

KOVR-TV (Sacramento, CA) -- News Director Cameryn Beck has left to join KTVK-TV in Phoenix, AZ. There has been no replacement named yet.

KCRW-FM (Santa Monica, CA) -- Kerry Cavanaugh joins as Producer of KCRW programs "To the Point" and "Which Way LA". Cavanaugh was previously Assistant City Editor for Los Angeles Daily News.

KPIX-TV (San Francisco, CA) -- Anchor Elizabeth Cook (http://twitter.com/Cbs5Liz and ecook@kpix.cbs.com) is taking on more duties as she will now host the 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts. Cook will also Anchor the 10:00 p.m. newscast on sister station KBCW-TV.

KTTV-TV (Los Angeles, CA) -- Entertainment Reporter Courtney Friel parts ways after six years with the station. There's been no replacement named as yet.

THR.com (Internet) -- Erin Weinger (erin.weinger@thr.com) joins the online version of The Hollywood Reporter as Style Editor.

Eastern Arizona Courier (Safford, AZ) -- David Bell (editor@eacourier.com) has joined the paper as Managing Editor. He is replacing Aimee Staten. Previously Bell was the Sports Editor for Today’s News-Herald in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Woodburn Independent (Woodburn, OR) -- Lindsay Keefer (lkeefer@woodburnindependent.com) has been named Editor of the paper. She is replacing Jason Horton. Prior to this she was an Education Reporter for the paper. 

Bellingham Alive (Bellingham, WA) -- Kaity Teer (kaity@klmediacorp.com) has been hired as Editor of Bellingham Alive magazine. She is replacing Hilary Parker, who left the magazine in January.

Forest Grove Leader (Forest Grove, OR) -- Samantha Swindler (sswindler@forestgroveleader.com) has joined the Forest Grove Leader as Editor. Previously she was the Director of News at Country Media. She will be replacing Tom Maurer in her new role.

KUPL-FM (Portland, OR) -- Danny Dwyer has been moved to the position of Midday Host at the Country station. Dwyer most recently served as the station’s Promotions Director.

Arizona Republic (Phoenix, AZ) -- Michelle Mitchell (michelle.mitchell@arizonarepublic.com) has been hired at the Arizona Republic to cover the city of Chandler. Most recently, she was an Education Reporter for the Palm Springs Desert Sun.

KRQE-TV (Albuquerque, NM) -- Meteorologist Chris Gilson is joining on as a Weekend Meteorologist. He was previously with WHBF-TV in Davenport-Rock Island-Moline, IN.

KOMO-TV (Seattle, WA) -- Anchor Peggy Bunker has announced that she is leaving the ABC affiliate. She has been with KOMO since 2011. Bunker will be replaced by Liz Dueweke, the Morning Anchor at KOKH-TV in Oklahoma City, beginning in April.

KXLY-TV (Spokane, WA) -- Reporter Casey Lund has joined the station. Previously, Lund worked at WAND-TV in Decatur, IL.

KHQ-TV (Spokane, WA) -- Reporter Chelsea Kopta has left the NBC affiliate. Prior to joining KHQ,  Kopta worked at KOMO-TV in Seattle and KEPR-TV in Pasco, WA.

KCPQ-TV (Seattle, WA) -- Paul Sanchez has joined KCPQ as a Photojournalist. He comes over from KSTU-TV in Salt Lake City, UT.

KTVX-TV/KUCW-TV (Salt Lake City, UT) -- News Director Larry Perret and Assistant News Director Leesa Dillon have been let go by the television duopoly. Dillion and Perret had both worked at the station since May 2011.
