WAGA-TV (Atlanta, GA) -- Former Major League Baseball player Ron Gant has been hired as Morning Anchor here. He starts this month. Gant has some broadcasting experience as he was the Atlanta Braves analyst for FOX Sports South as well as a studio analyst for MLB Network. Gant was a pro ballplayer for 16 years. WTVO-TV/WQRF-TV (Rockford, IL) -- News Director Kent Harrell is being promoted to Nexstar owned CBS affiliate WFRV-TV in Green Bay, WI, from the ABC-Fox duopoly, also owned by Nexstar. Harrell will replace Carmelyn Daley-Hinkens, who left the station in July to become Assistant News Director/News Content Manager for WITI-TV in Milwaukee. Scott Picken will join the duopoly, replacing Harrell.

Wisconsin State Journal (Madison, WI) -- State Government Reporter Clay Barbour has left the capitol bureau of the daily ( http://twitter.com/WiStateJournal).

Chicago Tribune (Chicago, IL) -- Science and Healthcare Reporter Trine Tsouderos has left the daily to serve as Healthcare Media Director at GolinHarris.

WICS-TV (Springfield, IL) -- Vince DeMentri has been named primary Anchor for the ABC station.

WEWS-TV (Cleveland, OH) -- Kristin Volk joins the ABC Affiliate as a General Assignment Reporter. Volk comes from Washington D.C., where she served as a Correspondent for the Scripps Howard News Service National Investigative Unit.

Chicago Sun-Times (Chicago, IL) -- Pulitzer Prize winner Mark Konkol, is leaving the daily to join a new hyperlocal digital news service covering city neighborhoods. He joins DNAInfo.com Chicago as a Writer-at-Large. The service is expected to launch in the fall online and over a range of mobile platforms. Marcus Gilmer joins the daily as Digital Editor/Blogs and Traffic. Gilmer comes from Chicago Public Media, where he served as blogger.

KMBC-TV (Kansas City, MO) -- Anchor Maria Antonia has left the station following 28 years of service.

KOMU-TV (Columbian, MO) -- Meteorologist  Dave Schmidt, moves to covering evening newscasts. Rosie Newberry (http://twitter.com/RosieNewberry) replaces Schmidt as the noon and 5:00 p.m. Weathercaster.

Las Vegas Sun (Las Vegas, NV) -- Tom Gorman has been promoted to Executive Editor of the paper.  Ric Anderson was named to succeed Gorman as Managing Editor. Gorman has been with the paper since 2005. He previously was Assistant Managing Editor. Anderson joined the paper in 2011 as Assistant Managing Editor.

KTNV-TV (Las Vegas, NV) -- Don Guevara has joined KTNV as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter. He previously was a Reporter at KTLA-TV in Los Angeles.

KSNV-TV (Las Vegas, NV) -- Jon Ralston and Dana Gentry have officially joined KSNV, where their political affairs program “Face to Face,”  currently airs. Ralston is the program’s Host and Gentry is the show’s Executive Producer.

KNEV-FM (Reno, NV) -- Doug Daniels has been named as the station’s new Program Director. He was previously Operations Manager for KONA-FM in Pasco, WA.

Seattle Times (Seattle, WA) -- The paper has named Thanh Tan as Multimedia Editorial Writer and Columnist. She joins the paper from the Texas Tribune where she served as a Multimedia Reporter.

KHQ-TV (Spokane, WA) -- Longtime Weatherman George Maupin has left the station after nearly 20 with the NBC affiliate.

Times-News (Twin Falls, ID) -- David Bashore is the new Sports Editor. He previously was the Outdoor Editor at the paper.

West Yellowstone News (West Yellowstone, MT) -- Mike Moore has been hired as a Reporter for the West Yellowstone News. He will be covering high school sports. He previously was a Reporter for the Valley Journal.

KVLY-TV/KXJB-TV (Fargo, ND) -- Ike Walker has been named as News Director for KVLY-KXJB Walker takes over for Griff Potter after he resigned recently.

KECI-TV (Missoula, MT) -- Laurel Staples has been named as Morning Anchor at KECI. She takes over for Rob Hudson who left KECI for WDAZ-TV in Grand Forks, N.D. 

KTVK-TV (Phoenix, AZ) -- Station News Director Brad Remington has resigned. He plans to leave the station after the elections and by the end of the year.  He previously was News Director at KDVR-TV in Denver,CO, as well as KTVI-TV in St. Louis, MO and KOB-TV in Albuquerque, NM.

WSNS-TV (Chicago, IL) -- Chris McDonnell has been hired as the General Manager.
