The Wall Street Journal (New York, NY) -- Joining the WSJ are Banking Editor Colin Barr and Banking Reporter Suzanne Kapner. Barr (colin.barr@wsj.com) arrives from Fortune. Kapner (suzanne.kapner@wsj.com) arrives from the Financial Times. Switching beats at the paper are Reporters Deborah Solomon and Randall Smith. Solomon (Deborah.solomon@wsj.com) now covers energy and the environment. Previously she handled the economic policy beat. Smith (randall.smith@wsj.com) now handles the IPO beat. He formerly covered securities. Meanwhile, leaving the WSJ and sister company Dow Jones Newswires is Editor/Blogger Greg Corcoran. He had been with the company for approximately 20 years.

The New York Times (New York, NY) -- Shaila Dewan (dewan@nytimes.com) has moved from the Peach State to the Big Apple. She was stationed in the Times' Atlanta Bureau since 2004 and now moves to the main office as a National Economy Reporter. Also making a change is long-time Sports Reporter Alan Schwarz, who is now an Education Reporter. Schwarz prefers email and can be contacted at alan.schwarz@nytimes.com. He does not like phone calls.Richard Stevenson (ristev@nytimes.com) has transitioned roles at the paper to Political Editor. Previously he was Deputy Washington Bureau Chief there.

Bloomberg News (New York, NY) -- Hannah Benjamin (hbenjamin@bloomberg.net) has been hired by Bloomberg as a Corporate Finance Reporter. She left Dow Jones Newswires, where she was a Capital Markets Reporter. Benjamin has a Twitter account at http://www.twitter.com/turtle_81. Edmund Lee (elee@bloomberg.net) is the new Media Reporter here. He was previously Digital Media Reporter at AdAge.

Thomson Reuters (New York, NY) -- Jed Horowitz (jed.horowitz@thomsonreuters.com) is now Financial Companies Editor at this wire service. He was previously a Wealth Management News Editor. That position has not been replaced. However, there is a new Wealth Management Reporter in Jessica Toonkel. Toonkel (jessica.toonkel@thomsonreuters.com) formerly worked for InvestmentNews and Workforce Management.  Also, Peter Lauria (peter.lauria@thomsonreuters.com) has been hired as Editor-in-Charge. Forbes (New York, NY) -- Randall Lane (rlane@forbes.com) returns to the magazine as the new Editor. He previously was at the publication from 1991-97. He was also Editor-at-Large at The Newsweek Daily Beast company. Deborah Jacobs (djacobs@forbes.com) is a new Senior Editor. She was previously a Financial Journalist.

NBC News/MSNBC News (New York, NY) -- Craig Melvin (Craig.Melvin@nbcuni.com) is now an Anchor for MSNBC News and a Correspondent for NBC News. He formerly served as Weekend Anchor/Reporter at WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. Congratulations to Melvin on his recent engagement to ESPN's Lindsay Czarniak!

NBC News (New York, NY) -- The network hired Ayman Mohyeldin (ayman.mohyeldin@nbc.com) as Foreign Correspondent. She was previously English Correspondent at Al Jazeera.

CBS Evening News Weekend - CBS Television Network (New York, NY) -- Jennifer Janisch (janischj@cbsnews.com) has been hired as a full-time Producer for the weekend newscasts after serving as a freelancer. She used to work for PBS.

WNYW-TV (New York, NY) -- Amy Cohen (amy.cohen@foxtv.com) is the new Evening Executive Producer, replacing Jerry Andrews (jerry.andrews@foxtv.com), who was promoted to Managing Editor. Also, Ms. Roshini Rajapaksa has been hired as Medical Correspondent. She remains a Medical Editor for Health magazine and a Contributor on "Today."

ProPublica (New York, NY) -- Mark Schoofs (mark.schoofs@propublica.org) joins the site as Senior Editor. He is a Pulitzer Prize winner, who had been stationed in Africa with The Wall Street Journal.

American Banker (New York, NY) -- Maria Aspan (maria.aspan@sourcemedia.com) has returned to this banking publication after leaving it to report for Thomson Reuters. She is now Consumer Finance Editor and can be followed on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/mariaaspan.

Associated Press (AP) (New York, NY) -- AP Veteran Rachel Beck has left the news service. The Business Reporter/Columnist had been with the AP since 1993.

Slate.com (New York, NY) -- Four layoffs were reported: Media Critic Jack Shafer, Foreign Editor June Thomas, Washington Columnist Tim Noah, and Associate Editor Juliet Lapidos.

Good Morning America - ABC Television Network (New York, NY) -- Senior Director John D'Incecco has left this morning program to begin work on a new ABC daytime show "The Chew." An exact premiere date has not been set.

WPIX-TV (New York, NY) -- Frances Rivera has been named Morning Anchor at 'PIX. She arrives from Boston where she had been an Anchor at WHDH-TV.

DJ FX Trader (New York, NY) -- The DJ FX Trader has added two members to its team. They are Assistant Manager Brian Baskin (brian.baskin@dowjones.com) and Reporter Anusha Shrivastava (anusha.shrivastava@dowjones.com).

WXPK-FM (White Plains, NY) -- Some shuffling has been done at this classic rock station. Music Director Rob Arrow (rob@1071thepeak.com) is now the Evening DJ while Caroline Corley has become the Morning DJ.

The Business Insider (New York, NY) -- Tony Manfred (tmanfred@businessinsider.com) has joined this business site as a Reporter covering the sports industry. He can be followed on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/tonymanfred.

WHAM-AM (Rochester, NY) -- After a quarter of a century with this news station, Program Director/Station Manager Jeff Howlett has been let go. Operations Manager Dave LeFrois (davelefrois@clearchannel.com) is now in charge of programming for both WHAM-AM and sister station WHTK-AM.

GQ (New York, NY) -- Senior Fashion Editor Lisa Cohen has decided to leave the men's magazine after a 28-year career to spend more time with her family.

WXXA-TV (Albany, NY) -- News Director David Baer (davidbaer@fox23news.com) returns home as he takes charge of this Fox affiliate. Baer grew up in Upstate New York and went to college in the area as well. He leaves WGGB-TV in Springfield, MA, where he was also News Director. He replaces Gary LaPlante who left last month to be Assistant News Director at WFXT-TV in Boston.

American Printer and Paper, Film & Foil Converter (Chicago, IL) -- Penton Media has discontinued publication of two longstanding print industry monthlies. American Printer covered the printing and lithographic industry. Paper, Film & Foil Converter focused on converting and package printing. The American Printer was launched in 1883 as the Inland Printer. Paper, Film & Foil Converter was launched in 1927 as The Envelope Industry.

Roseville Independent (Roseville, IL) -- Nathan Woodside has joined the paper as Editor. Woodside replaces Phil Gerding, who passed away. Gerding served 64 years at the paper. Woodside most recently served as a Reporter at the McDonough County Voice in Macomb, Illinois.

WLS-AM (Chicago, IL) -- Reporter Mary Frances Bragiel moves to the talk station as evening Anchor and afternoon Reporter. She most recently served as Reporter for News/Talk simulcast stations WBBM-AM and WCFS-FM in Chicago. She replaces Dave Stewart, who now anchors the midday newscasts for the station.

Wausau Daily Herald (Wausau, WI) -- Managing Editor Mark Treinen has been promoted to Editor of the daily publication. You may reach Treinen at mtreinen@wdhprint.com.

WSAW-TV (Wausau, WI) -- Mikel Lauber (mlauber@wsaw.com)has been promoted to News Director at the CBS affiliate. He currently anchors the evening newscasts. Lauber replaces Susan Ramsett, who left the station earlier this year.

The Leader & Kalkaskian (Traverse City, MI) -- Bryce Martin (bmartin@michigannewspapers.com) has joined the paper as Editor. Martin replaces Chris Tredway, who resigned. He previously served as a Freelancer for the Midland Daily News in Michigan.

WKRC-TV (Cincinnati, OH) -- Curtis Jackson has joined as the new evening Co-Anchor for the CBS affiliate. Jackson currently reports for WEWS-TV, the ABC affiliate in Cleveland.

Ebony (Chicago, IL) -- Kierna Mayo (kmayo@ebony.com) has been named Editorial Director of Digital at the lifestyle magazine. Mayo had been Editorial Director at Tyra.com.

WFMJ-TV (Youngstown, OH) -- Leslie Barrett has joined as Co-Anchor for the NBC affiliate. Barrett comes from WTAP-TV in Parkersburg, WV where she served as Reporter and Weekend Anchor.

WFRV-TV (Green Bay, WI) -- Carmelyn Daley-Hinkens rejoins the CBS affiliate as News Director. She has served as Producer and Reporter for the station in the past. She has worked for WISC-TV in Madison where she ultimately moved up to News Director. She replaces Lee Hitter who left the station earlier this year.

WFIE-TV (Evansville, IN) -- Scott Galloway (sgalloway@14wfie.com) has been promoted to News Director at this Raycom-owned NBC affiliate. Galloway has been the interim News Director since CJ Hoyt left last month for the same position with sister-Raycom station WTOL-TV in Toledo.

WKYC-TV (Cleveland, OH) -- Pamela Osborne (pamelaosborne@wkyc.com) joins the Cleveland NBC affiliate as a Reporter. Osbourne comes from WNWO-TV in Toledo.

WAOW-TV (Wausau, WI) -- Executive Producer John Laughrin moves to this Quincy Newspapers owned ABC affiliate as News Director from WLUK-TV in Green Bay. Laughrin replaces Kathy Reynolds who left earlier this year to become the News Director for WEYI-TV in Flint, Michigan.

WMAQ-TV (Chicago, IL) -- Michelle Relerford moves back to Chicago, where she joins the NBC owned station as a Reporter and fill-in Anchor. Relerford comes from WHDH-TV in Boston, where she served as a Reporter. Art Norman, who retired two years ago is returning to the station part-time. Norman returns with his segments, “Art Norman’s Chicago,” on the 5:00 p.m. newscasts twice a month. The segment will feature stories about local residents’ relationships with their communities.

WICD-TV (Champaign, IL) -- Matt Brickman is leaving the ABC affiliate for weekend morning weather Anchor at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis. Brickman was the morning and midday weather Anchor for the station.

WRTV-TV (Indianapolis, IN) -- Reporter Eboné Monet (ebone_monet@wrtv.com) has joined the station as a General Assignment Reporter. She most recently worked at KTHV-TV in Little Rock where she served in the same capacity.

WTOL-TV (Toledo, OH) -- Weekend Weather Anchor Mike Stone has left the CBS affiliate for WTVR-TV in Richmond. Stone joins the station as Weekend Meteorologist.

WLNS-TV (Lansing, MI) -- Reporter Greg Adaline (gadaline@wlns.com) joins the station as Anchor. Adaline comes from KCTV-TV in Kansas City.

WDIV-TV (Detroit, MI) -- Reporter and fill-in Anchor Frank Holland is leaving the Detroit station and joining Chicago’s Tribune owned WGN-TV as the morning Co-Anchor. Holland will anchor alongside Erin McElroy. He will replace Tom Negovan, who was serving on an interim basis.

WXMI-TV (Grand Rapids, MI) -- Reporter Lisa LaPlante is leaving the Fox-affiliate.
LaPlante has chosen to leave the TV news business for a communications position with an area health department.

WLUC-TV (Marquette, MI) -- Bureau Reporter Ashley Palumbo has left this station to join WGME-TV in Portland, Maine as General Assignment Reporter.

WTMJ-TV (Milwaukee, WI) -- Lindsey Morone is joining the NBC affiliate as Executive Producer, Special Projects. Morone comes from NBC-affiliate WAVY-TV in Norfolk-Portsmouth, Virginia.

WGN-TV (Chicago, IL) -- Allison Payne, a veteran Anchor of the Tribune owned station is leaving. She has suffered from several health problems, including damage to her vocal cords. Executives at the CW affiliate agreed to a buyout of Payne’s contract. Payne anchors the midday newscast along with Steve Sanders.

WIND-AM (Chicago, IL) -- Steve Cochran has joined Salem Communications news/talk station as afternoon Host. The show will focus mainly on politics. Cochran is replacing the syndicated Michael Savage.

Johnson County Sun (Overland Park, KS) -- Following 50 years of publishing, the Johnson county Sun has closed its doors. NPG Newspapers Inc. will lay off 20 reporters, editors and sales staff immediately to suspend publication operations.

WCCO-TV (Minneapolis, MN) -- Meteorologist Lauren Casey (lcasey@wcco.com) comes aboard. She most recently served as Meteorologist at WINK-TV in Fort Meyers, Florida. Weather Anchor Matt Brickman (mbrickman@wcco.com) also joins; leaving WICD-TV (Champaign, IL). And finally, Executive Producer Matt Kummer has left.

Minnesota Public Radio (St. Paul, MN) -- Radio Host Gary Eichten will retire in January of 2012. He hosted the midday show since the 90s and started with the network back in the 60s.

The Star Tribune (Minneapolis, MN) -- Capitol Reporter Jim Ragsdale joins, arriving from the St. Paul Pioneer Press, where he served as Editorial Page Writer.

KSAX-TV (Alexandria, MN) -- Joel Lundstad is hired as News Director. He replaces Cristi Jessee, who took a position as News Director at KBAK-TV in Bakersfield, CA.

Morris Sun Tribune (Morris, MN) -- Former Intern Kim Ukura is hired as Editor. The previous Editor Tom Larson left the weekly to take the title of Sports Editor at the West Central Tribune in Willmar, Minnesota.

Savage Pacer (Prior Lake, MN) -- Editor Amy Lyon (editor@savagepacer.com) is hired as Editor. She comes from the Lakeshore Weekly News, located in Wayzata, MN.

KMBC-TV (Kansas City, MO) -- Sports Director Johnny Kane is hired. He previously served as Sports Director for NBC, Fox and ABC network affiliates.

KOLN-TV/KGIN-TV (Lincoln, NE) -- Anchor Bonney Bowman (bonnie.bowman@1011now.com) joins this CBS affiliate. She arrives from Joplin, Missouri, where she served as Anchor at KSNF-TV.

KVII-TV (Amarillo, TX) -- News Director Steve Pair is leaving the station. The local ABC affiliate is currently looking for his replacement.

KDFW-TV (Dallas, TX) -- Maria Barrs is leaving her position as News Director at the local FOX affiliate. She is moving to KXTV-TV in Sacramento to become the General Manager.

KVEO-TV (Brownsville, TX) -- Paul Alexander has taken over as News Director. Previously he was a Sports Anchor for numerous stations throughout the southwest.

KRIV-TV (Houston, TX) -- Don Teague (don.teague@foxtv.com) has joined the station as lead Anchor. Teague comes from CBS News where he was a Texas-based correspondent.

KXAS-TV -- General Assignments Reporter Kim Fischer is leaving the station to pursue other opportunities.
