Company Unveils Santa’s Wonderland
Springfield, MO, October 31, 2008 /PRNewswire/ — Bass Pro Shops feels it’s important for families to hold on to the tradition of Christmas - maybe even more so this year. Christmas at Bass Pro Shops across America and Canada will be bigger and better than ever.
"Christmas is a magical time of year for everyone," stated Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. "We want to invite shoppers to bring the kids and grandkids to our very own Santa's Wonderland and make memories that last a lifetime."
This year, Bass Pro Shops will feature "Santa's Wonderland," a magical village for kids with old-time model trains, remote control cars, Red Ryder laser arcade, Nerf soft gun range and craft activity tables every weekend, and it's all absolutely free. Customers can get a free 4x6 photo with Santa and his reindeer from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours beginning November 27th. If the line is long, they can grab a Bass Pass and their appointment with Santa will be set.
Beginning Sunday, November 9th and continuing until December 24th, bring or buy a new toy in the stores' kids' section and donate to the Bass Pro Shops Toys for the Kids drive. Show support for the troops by making a donation to the USO's Operation Care Package at all store registers, or donate to AMVETS and support their efforts to make a difference in the lives of American Veterans.
Bass Pro Shops stores will kick off the season with a Christmas Preview Night Sunday, November 9th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Santa will arrive at 5:30 pm via sleigh, carriage, ATV, or boat depending on location. Kids can help Santa light up the store and giant Christmas tree, and then head inside for the unveiling of Santa's Wonderland.
The 2nd annual Great Turkey Campout will take place Thanksgiving Day starting at 5:00 pm. Customers can bring their tents and campout all night in the parking lot so they can be one of the first in line to enter the store on Black Friday.
From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. there will be hot chocolate, coffee, and s'mores around the fire pits. Every 30 minutes there will be a drawing for gift cards and customers can enter to win a $1,000 Bass Pro Shops gift card and a $5,000 Shell gas card.
