Stereotype Announces First Bar And Club Gigs For Live Music In 2008
Booking For The New Year Is Now Open
New York City — January 17th, 2008 — Stereotype, a cover band playing New York and New Jersey since March of 2007, has announced their booking availability for 2008. Popular Friday and Saturday nights are filling up quickly, with the most coveted dates already gone.
"We're taking a little break this month, but our December schedule is packed," says Melissa Elsner, the lead singer of the popular band. "Now we're focusing on expanding into new venues for 2008, trying to find fun crowds all the way from Brooklyn to the Jersey Shore. I can't wait to get out there!"
Upcoming shows are scheduled for The Wicked Monk in Brooklyn, Danny Boy's in Staten Island, and Brady's at the Station in North Jersey.
The high-energy band has been playing under the name 'Stereotype' for most of 2007, having undergone a name and image change from their previous incarnation as 'Spankin the Freak.' The four members of the band — Melissa (vocals), Tim (drums), Roger (lead guitar), and Vinny (bass) — have been playing together since 2004. They focus on popular rock songs spanning from the 1980's to now, with a few older tunes thrown in every now and then to mix it up a bit. A sample set may include some of the following songs:
