National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians Releases Public Service Announcement Encouraging Community Members to Support their Local Emergency Medical Services

Clinton, Mississippi, January 09, 2007 / PRNewswire / — Most Americans take it for granted that when they call 9-1-1, a trained emergency medical professional will arrive within minutes to help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But the dedicated Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians need your help in spreading the word about the importance of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) would like to educate the American public about the value that EMS offers to our local communities, and stress the idea that emergency medical services is a community effort.

NAEMT has released a public service announcement featuring appearances by real EMS professionals. The multi-part message stresses the four ways in which the public can recognize the value of and support EMS, including:

  • Becoming an Emergency Medical Technician;
  • Pulling over when an ambulance approaches;
  • Learning CPR; and
  • Urging elected officials to support EMS.
