San Diego Area Interior Decorator Jeanine Naviaux Utilizes Client's Love of the Ocean in Home Design

LA JOLLA RESIDENT'S REDESIGNED HOME OFFERS THE SOLACE OF THE SEA INDOORS

(La Jolla, CA - September 18, 2008) /PRNewswire/ — When a client wanted to redesign his Spanish Revival home, he enlisted the help of internationally-recognized design firm On The Inside Design. Led by owner and founder Jeanine Naviaux, the La Jolla-based design firm quickly grasped her client's love of the ocean.

Focusing her ten years experience in the U.S., Mexico and Europe, Naviaux crafted a home that was both airy and modern with tasteful seaside accents/touches, such the use of paint, since the home was devoid of color. Whenever possible, Naviaux used eco-friendly building materials to complete the transformation.

A hallmark of Naviaux's green thumb is her use of bamboo cabinets throughout the home. (www.ontheinsidedesign.com)

Jeanine Naviaux says, "We get to know each client so we can design something unique to them and their personality. They want their home to be a reflection of themselves, and we get to know them so we can design a home where they feel happy and comfortable. We call this 'California Beach Modern.'"

The client's home is located in La Jolla, CA, built in 1988, and has a view of the sea. Naviaux's beach-themed inspiration manifests itself in a contemporary design. The living room is outfitted with bright and colorful paintings. The client had custom pieces made for the living room. One from Robert Verhees and another from Randy Strong, who was featured in American Style Magazine. The couch was reupholstered with Donghia fabric to keep with the beach theme. The room is lit at night with sconces from Oggetti and Besa Lighting.

The Master Bedroom features a custom bed that is wrapped in raffia. Other fine points of this masterful design job include a Beach End Table. Naviaux designed the table herself to suit the client's newly outfitted residence. The table is fashioned with a thick glass top over a recycled wood frame that is wrapped with eco-friendly raffia cloth. As the design world moves toward greener practices, Naviaux's creation reflects the importance of integrating renewable resources. Also, the Beach End Table is one of the finalists in the Spark Awards.
