STA TRAVEL SEARCHES FOR THE ULTIMATE WORLD TRAVELER INTERN
DALLAS · February 12, 2008 /PRNewswire/ — After the success of the 2007 World Traveler Internship, STA Travel, the world's largest student and youth travel organization, is conducting a nationwide search for the next ultimate summer intern! The STA Travel World Traveler Internship takes one lucky student through 14 countries during the summer of 2008 as they document their adventures and inspire fellow students to travel the world.
"This internship is designed to give students a new perspective on traveling the world," said Scott Hyden, president of STA Travel North America. "For students, traveling isn't just about simply reading a brochure to learn about a destination but becoming inspired by the experiences of fellow students and seeing those experiences through the eyes of their peers."
The World Traveler Intern will highlight their adventures through blogs, photos and videos along the course of the trip. This media will then be available for students to follow on several different online channels including STA Travel's Facebook Group and online social community, www.statravelers.com. This integrated community of student travelers is an engaging space full of multi-media destination information. Applications are being accepted on www.statravelers.com through March 1.
The World Traveler Internship is chalked full of adventure, spanning four continents across the globe. Highlights include:
- Europe: 14-day adventure through Madrid, Barcelona, Avignon, French Riviera, Pisa, Florence and Rome, and an 11-day journey from Rome, Plataria, Greece, Tirana, Albania, Herceg Novi, Montenegro, Dubrovnia and Zadar, Croatia and Venice
- Asia: 12-day exploration through Hong Kong, Guiyang/ Kaili, Kunming, Sapa and Hanoi
- Australia: 4-day experience of the best of Sydney, Australia including Bondi Beach, Sydney Harbor and the Opera House.
- New Zealand: 7-day adventure through the South Island including Christchurch, Lake Ohau, Milford Sound, Queenstown, Fox Glacier and Flock Hill
- Buenos Aires: 4-day experience of Buenos Aires, Argentina including La Boca, San Telmo and Recoleta
- Galapagos: 6-day adventure of South America through Quito, Puerto Ayora, North Seymour, Bartolome and Baltra
