Look Who's Talking – New Social Network for Moms, Dads and Grandparents Adds Discussion Forums
Washington, D.C. August 4, 2008 /PRNewswire/ – Following its successful beta launch in May 2008, YadaHome.com (www.yadahome.com) is giving Moms, Dads and Grandparents even more ways to engage, exchange and connect with one another. "Parents want a site where they can easily store, retrieve and share information. They also want to connect and communicate with other parents in similar situations. Adding groups and forums to our existing network of individual user profiles now provides our members with a unique, full-service social networking experience," said Maurice McKenzie, founder and President.
YadaHome.com was designed for parents of all ages, including Baby Boomers and Generation Jones, who comprise over 40% of YadaHome's membership. "We recognize that grandparents remain actively involved in their grown children's and grandchildren's lives. We've created a platform that allows parents of all ages to easily build personal networks and stay connected with family and friends," said McKenzie. "Moreover, site features, such as local events and grocery coupons help simplify the lives of all users."
The centerpiece of YadaHome.com is the free personalized user interface, called "My Fridge". This innovative online resource resembles a stainless steel refrigerator, where each member can post and share photos, grocery lists, to do lists, calendars, recipes and personal blog entries. Members control their privacy settings and only share content on their "My Fridge" page with those they select. To add to the feel of home, each member's "My Fridge" page is surrounded by a bulletin board for messages, two stools, a TV which connects to the member's network and an interactive family dog.
"The refrigerator has served as a household communication device for decades. We encourage our members to transfer the calendars, photos, to do lists and other items they have traditionally placed under magnets on their home fridge onto their 'My Fridge' page, for easier access and sharing," said McKenzie
Since May 2008, YadaHome.com has attracted over 1,500 members. "We are excited to see our membership grow so rapidly during its beta stage. We believe parents and grandparents have a great deal to gain from social networks tailored to their needs. We believe that we have created a refreshing and user-friendly take on the social web, providing a host of organizational, informational, entertainment and savings resources that create real value for our members," said McKenzie.
