Sente, Inc. Announces Commercial Launch of Sente Dermal Repair Cream
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Senté, Inc., a science-based cosmeceutical company, today announced that the company has formally launched the first product in a new line of clinical skincare products utilizing its novel and proprietary glycoprotein technology.
Senté Dermal Repair Cream features a proprietary formulation of the active ingredient heparan sulfate (HS). HS is the most biologically active of the glycoproteins that reside in human skin. The biologically active glycoproteins used in Senté Dermal Repair Cream promote cell renewal, facilitate new collagen development, increase skin hydration, gradually lighten the appearance of pigmented lesions and soothe irritated skin.
"HS is found extensively on the cell surface of skin cells and through the epidermal and dermal layers," said Kleanthis G. Xanthopoulos, Ph.D., Founder and Director, Sente, Inc. "The molecule binds and regulates the activities of enzymes, growth factors and proteins, and even has the ability to stimulate collagen fiber production. It provides long lasting benefits by addressing age-related issues of elasticity loss and skin tone."
"Research done in our labs at University of California San Diego is increasingly validating the critical importance of glycoproteins for skin health," said Richard L. Gallo M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, and Chief of the Division of Dermatology at the University of California, San Diego. "These molecules consisting of sugars and proteins, not only fill the space between tissues, but are also biologically active. We are learning more everyday about how critical glycoproteins are to help turn back the aging process for the skin."
Senté's product line will be targeted and sold through dermatologists and aesthetic practices. It will also be directly available to consumers exclusively on Senté's website at www.sentelabs.com.
