2014 Cadillac XTS to Include Option for Highest Output V6 in GM History New Twin-Turbo V6 Engine Marks Historic Output for General Motors
JOLIET, Ill., May 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Although the 2013 Cadillac lineup in Joliet, IL has been one to remember, Cadillac has already confirmed a new engine option for select 2014 models. The new 410-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 engine will find its way to the new Cadillac XTS and CTS and represent the highest output V6 in General Motors' history.
The new engine was unveiled in March as an option on the 2014 Cadillac CTS, but only recently has been revealed as an upgraded engine option for the XTS as well. The all-aluminum direct injection engine will be coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission and will reach its max horsepower at 5,750 RPM and output its peak torque of 430 lb.-ft. at 3,500 RPM.
While the 2013 Cadillac XTS was new to the lineup in 2013, it was one of the brand's most successful luxury sedans. Joining the Cadillac ATS as the newest vehicles in the Cadillac lineup, the XTS features a spacious interior, advanced technology, and up to 28 MPG on the highway. Although it stood up to the competition in terms of power and acceleration with the 304-horsepower 3.6-liter V6, the new twin turbo V6 engine will be a welcome sight for drivers seeking even more strength and power.
While the XTS is known for its luxury amenities and cutting-edge technology, it also appeals to families with its spacious interior, entertainment amenities, and advanced safety. With antilock disc brakes, stability control and traction control, the XTS has the agility to help drivers avoid Joliet body shop work.
