2014 Dodge models offer wide variety of engines
Consumers have choice between fuel economy and power
TOPEKA, Kan., Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- In an attempt to reach a wider range of consumers, many manufacturers provide a variety of different trim levels for their models—each of which offers something new. For example, higher-end trims typically come with additional technology upgrades. Arguably the most change between trims, however, is the engine that comes equipped under the hood. Both the new Ram 1500 and the Dodge Dart come with a choice of a few engine options which help them to appeal to a number of different lifestyles.
Throughout the five different trims of the compact 2014 Dodge Dart, there are two engine options—one with unmatched fuel efficiency, and one with increased power. When the 1.4-liter Multiair Turbo engine is stocked in the nose of the Dart, the compact car delivers 41 mpg on the highway, making it a great engine for commuters and families. The 2.4-liter engine option is also great for commuters, but it better suits those who tend to leave at the last possible minute. The four-cylinder has an output of 184 horsepower and is still capable of sipping fuel at an impressive 35 mpg on the highway.
Consumers looking for even more power are sure to find what they need in one of the nine different trim levels of the 2014 Ram 1500. The Ram 1500 offers a wider variety of engines than the Dart, and it doesn't bother wasting time with a four-cylinder. The "weakest" engine is a 3.6-liter V6 capable of towing more than 10,000 pounds. It's unbelievable that this pickup is classified as light duty truck. Those more concerned about the output of the engine are sure to find solace in the power of the Hemi V-8 engine, which puts out nearly 400 horsepower.
The new Dodge Dart and Ram 1500 are currently available in a variety of trims from Briggs Dodge in Topeka, Kan.
