According to a newly published report by IDC (International Data Corporation), mobile advertising spending in the United States grew by 88 percent in 2012 to a total of $4.5 billion, compared to $2.4 billion in 2011, and publishers controlled 52 percent of U.S. mobile display ad spending in 2012, compared to 39 percent in 2011.
