All-new Marketing Hall of Fame to recognize Marketing's top innovators
The New York American Marketing Association announces new global program to recognize marketing innovation.
NEW YORK, June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The New York American Marketing Association is now accepting nominations for marketing industry innovators, who will be the first inductees into the all-new Marketing Hall of Fame. This revives a proud past tradition, whose awardees have included Steve Jobs. The Marketing Hall of Fame will be dedicated to recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of marketing, moved the discipline forward and advanced the state of the art. A key goal will be to encourage future generations of marketers to follow in their steps.
The nomination is open to both members and non-members of the NYAMA. Nominations will be closed on July 31st and the inductees will be announced in August 2013, for an event ceremony in October.
In a world filled with awards that include The Baseball Hall of Fame, The Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, The Advertising Hall of Fame and many others, it is, according to Randall Ringer, President of the NYAMA, "Astonishing and embarrassing that there is no Marketing Hall of Fame. The marketers who do so much to create fame for others have to date done nothing to recognize their own achievements. Now we are going to put that to an end."
The vision for the program, the brainchild of Ringer and committee Chairperson Joanna Seddon, is to start an enduring tradition of recognizing each year the most compelling practitioners in the world of marketing who have achieved extraordinary business success through marketing innovation and leadership. Nominees can come from any marketing discipline—they can be CMOs or Marketing Directors, work in advertising, or branding or research agencies, or be academics, journalists or other marketing experts. They can have innovated in many ways. Three inductees are expected to be chosen in this inaugural year.
