22nd Annual Salvation Army Santa Shuffle Was a Huge Success
Presented by All Weather Windows, Almost 13,000 Runners Raised Record Amounts to Support Salvation Army Programs!
TORONTO, Dec. 5, 2012 /CNW/ - This past weekend, in 39 cities nationwide, almost 13,000 runners braved the cold December weather and participated in The Salvation Army Santa Shuffle Presented by All Weather Windows. In partnership with the Running Room, this 5 km run and 1 km elf walk is held annually to raise funds that support Salvation Army social and community service programs across Canada. While donations are still coming in, The Salvation Army is hopeful that funds raised will exceed $700,000.
This is the third year that All Weather Windows has participated as the National Presenting Sponsor and it has been the most successful year ever with a 25% increase in participants and a record amount raised. "It is wonderful to see the spirit and generosity of Christmas exemplified by the fantastic people from All Weather Windows," says Graham Moore, Territorial Secretary for Public Relations and Development of The Salvation Army. "We are grateful to the Running Room for their continued support and thankful to the participants and those that donated. Proceeds from this event will help restore hope and dignity to women and children in crisis, feed and provide shelter for the homeless and help make Christmas a possibility for those in need."
All Weather Windows, Canada's largest independent window and door maker, is committed to community involvement. They believe that the partnership with the Salvation Army is an excellent illustration of the positive values that All Weather Windows deems important, as this is an opportunity to give back to the community and assist those in need
In addition to this past weekend's Santa Shuffle, donations to the 2012 Christmas Campaign can be made at your local kettle, online at www.FilltheKettle.com, by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (725-2769), by texting HOPE to 45678 from most wireless carriers in Canada or via mail to The Salvation Army, 2 Overlea Blvd, Toronto, ON M4H 1P4.
